Colors of Joy Brighten Nasr City Public Library in Orphan Day Celebration

In a joyful and heartwarming atmosphere, Nasr City Public Library, affiliated with the Misr Society for Culture and Community Development, celebrated Orphan Day with a special event that highlighted social solidarity and the library’s role in supporting vulnerable children through a mix of culture and fun.

The library welcomed children from social care programs at Mustafa Kamal Helmy Second School, Martyr Mohamed Ashraf Abdel Fattah School, Colonel Hesham Azab School, and Martyr Walid Essam School. The library’s halls were transformed into lively spaces filled with laughter and interactive activities.

The celebration was held under the sponsorship of several civil society organizations and attended by prominent educational and social figures, including:

  • Ms. Souad Amin – Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and Parents Association, Chair of Zahret Masr Association

  • Mr. Ahmed Shaaban – Director General of East Nasr City Educational Administration

  • Ms. Reem Elwardani – Director of Educational Services

  • Mr. Ahmed Lotfy – Director of Primary Education

  • Ms. Dalia Adnan – Senior Social Education Supervisor

  • Dr. Mohamed Kassab – Social Education Supervisor

  • Dr. Mohamed Shaaban – Director of Social Services at El-Zawya Administration

  • Mr. Bahaa Abdel Wahab – Senior Social Education Supervisor

  • Mr. Adel El-Hawary – Chair of the International Peace Ambassadors Association

  • Ms. Asmaa Rifaat – Representative of Al-Birr wal-Taqwa Association

The program included enjoyable segments that delighted the attendees, such as puppet shows, Aragoz performances, a DJ session adding energetic vibes, and the popular “Color War” activity, supervised by Ms. Iman Shaaban and Ms. Shaimaa Hamdy.

Zahret Masr Association presented gifts to the children, while the International Peace Ambassadors Association and Al-Birr wal-Taqwa Association provided meals, creating a touching humanitarian gesture.

Ms. Ashnadel Mohamed Amin Helmy II, Secretary-General of the Misr Society for Culture and Community Development and Board Member, expressed her happiness at participating, highlighting the importance of integrating cultural and recreational activities in libraries to enhance children’s awareness and personality development.

Mr. Hany Abdel Mored, Director of Nasr City Public Library, expressed pride in organizing the event, noting that celebrating Orphan Day reflects the library’s commitment to supporting children psychologically and culturally, and strengthening their sense of belonging to their community.
